Company Overview
RFgen is a product-led company with over 30 years of industry presence, helping global enterprises execute supply chain operations through mobile, ERP-integrated solutions. We serve customers across Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defense, Oil & Gas, Construction, and Food & Beverage.
As we grow our India-based Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, we're looking for experienced professionals who want to build meaningful work in a collaborative, engineering-driven environment.
About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level developer to join our development team. Our applications automate and streamline supply chain processes with mobile data collection and warehouse workflow tools built on an event-driven, VBA-style scripting platform, integrated with enterprise ERP systems and backed by heavy SQL. The work you ship has a direct, visible impact on real-world warehouse operations.
As a Service Engineer L2, you will carry development work with autonomy: building enhancements, developing ERP integrations, and delivering small-to-medium projects from requirements through deployment. You'll partner with senior engineers on larger initiatives and help level up our L1 engineers.
What You'll Work With
- An event-driven, VBA-style scripting environment for application logic
- SQL Server (T-SQL) and Oracle (PL/SQL) for enterprise business data; SQLite on mobile devices
- Git or TFVC for source control and peer-reviewed development
- Integrations with enterprise ERP systems (Oracle and SAP platforms)
- Agile Planning
Key Responsibilities
- Own defect resolution end-to-end: triage, reproduce, root-cause, fix, and verify — including complex issues that span application code, database, and integration layers
- Design and build enhancements and small-to-medium projects independently, from requirements through deployment
- Develop and maintain integrations between our applications and ERP business processes
- Mentor L1 engineers and them on debugging technique, coding standards, and delivery
- Partner with senior engineers on larger projects, owning defined workstreams
- Work with functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate business processes into technical workflows
- Lead application deployments and drive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strengthen team documentation, the knowledge base, and coding standards
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of professional software development experience, including production support or defect-resolution responsibility
- Strong SQL proficiency with hands-on enterprise RDBMS experience — deep in one of SQL Server (T-SQL) or Oracle (PL/SQL), with working knowledge of the other
- Experience with event-driven programming and architecture
- Experience building or supporting integrations between applications and enterprise business systems, direct ERP integration experience strongly preferred
- Experience with source control and peer-review workflows (e.g., Git or TFVC)
- Experience working on a development team within a structured SDLC, and comfort with Agile planning and delivery
- Proven debugging skill across code, data, and integration layers and the ability to isolate root causes in systems you didn't write
- Clear written and verbal communication: documenting root causes, writing up designs, and giving constructive review feedback
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across concurrent tickets and project work
- A genuine desire to learn integration development with ERP systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct integration experience with SAP or Oracle ERP platforms
- Experience designing or consuming RESTful APIs
- UI/UX judgment for operator-facing screens and the ability to make good, user centered design decisions
- Familiarity with warehouse operations or supply chain processes; hands-on warehouse experience is a plus
- Experience mentoring or onboarding junior developers
Bonus Points
- Techno-functional experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud, Oracle EBS, or SAP ECC / S/4HANA
- Prior experience with VBA, .NET, or another scripting language
- Experience building applications for mobile or handheld devices (barcode scanning / data collection)
- Exposure to AI models in the development workflow and competency in prompt engineering
What You'll Grow Into
This role is the bridge to senior engineering. You'll deepen your ERP integration expertise, take ownership of system design decisions, and build the project-leadership and mentoring track record that defines our senior engineers.
