Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Flexographic Printing Machine Operator to operate and maintain flexographic printing machines used for printing on flexible packaging materials such as garbage bags, carry bags, compostable bags, polybags, and other packaging films. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in machine setup, color matching, print quality inspection, and production efficiency while ensuring minimal wastage.
Key ResponsibilitiesMachine Operation
- Operate Flexographic Printing Machines safely and efficiently.
- Set up printing jobs, including mounting printing plates, cylinders, anilox rollers, and ink systems.
- Adjust machine settings for different substrates and job specifications.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production.
Print Quality
- Ensure accurate color matching as per approved artwork.
- Inspect print quality continuously during production.
- Identify and rectify printing defects such as:
- Color variation
- Misregistration
- Smudging
- Ink spreading
- Ghosting
- Pinholes
- Streaks
Production
- Achieve daily production targets with minimum downtime.
- Minimize material wastage and optimize ink consumption.
- Perform job changeovers efficiently.
Maintenance
- Carry out routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Report machine breakdowns and coordinate with the maintenance team.
- Maintain machine records and production logs.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures and company SOPs.
- Ensure proper handling of inks, solvents, and chemicals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S).
Documentation
- Record production details, machine parameters, and material consumption.
- Maintain quality inspection reports.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Flexographic Printing Process.
- Experience in water-based and solvent-based ink systems.
- Understanding of color mixing and shade matching.
- Knowledge of printing on:
- LDPE
- HDPE
- Compostable Film
- Biodegradable Film
- Polybags
- Carry Bags
- Garbage Bags
- Flexible Packaging Materials
- Ability to troubleshoot printing issues.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of printing machines.
- Good understanding of print registration and tension control.
Preferred Machine Experience
Experience on any of the following Flexographic Printing Machines will be preferred:
- CI Flexo Printing Machine
- Stack Type Flexo Printing Machine
- Inline Flexographic Printing Machine
- 2 Color / 4 Color / 6 Color / 8 Color Flexo Printing Machines
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma / 10th / 12th Pass
- Technical certification in Printing Technology is an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience operating Flexographic Printing Machines.
- Experience in flexible packaging, carry bags, garbage bags, biodegradable bags, compostable bags, or polybag manufacturing is highly preferred.
