About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineering Intern to join our core engineering team for a 3-month internship. In this role, you will work closely with senior design engineers on product design, CAD modeling, prototyping, and technical documentation.
As our team interacts with diverse regional clients, suppliers, and field staff, multilingual communication skills (Kannada, Hindi, English, and Malayalam) are highly valued for cross-functional coordination and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
- CAD Modeling & Drafting: Create, modify, and optimize 2D drawings and 3D CAD models (using tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or CATIA).
- Design Support: Assist senior engineers in product design, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
- Prototyping & Testing: Participate in physical prototyping, product assembly, and initial testing cycles.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bill of Materials (BOMs), and design specs.
- Cross-Regional Coordination: Interface with local suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams across South/North India using regional languages to clarify technical queries and track component procurement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial, Mechatronics, or Product Design Engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in standard 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, etc.).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, injection molding, 3D printing).
- Fundamental knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and drafting standards.
- Language Proficiency (Mandatory):
- Fluent communication skills (speaking/reading) in English, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills to coordinate with cross-regional teams and suppliers.
- Eager to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
