1. Site Preparation & Planning
- Conduct site inspection and assessment before installation.
- Verify roof condition, orientation, shadow analysis, and load capacity.
- Review design drawings, layout plans, and BOQ (Bill of Quantity).
- Coordinate with project engineers and clients for site readiness.
2. Installation Supervision
- Supervise installation of:
- Solar panels (PV modules)
- Module mounting structures
- Inverters
- DC & AC cabling
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Ensure installation follows approved drawings and standards.
3. Workforce Management
- Manage technicians, electricians, and installation teams.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor work progress.
- Ensure workers follow safety rules and PPE usage.
4. Quality Control
- Check proper:
- Module alignment and tilt angle
- Tightening of bolts and clamps
- Cable routing and dressing
- Earthing connections
- Ensure work meets company and electrical standards.
5. Safety Management
- Implement site safety procedures.
- Ensure use of:
- Safety harness
- Helmets
- Gloves
- Proper scaffolding / ladder safety
- Prevent electrical and fall hazards.
6. Material Management
- Receive and verify site materials like:
- Solar modules
- Inverters
- Mounting structures
- Cables and connectors
- Maintain material inventory and usage records.
7. Testing & Commissioning Support
- Assist in:
- String testing
- Insulation resistance test
- Continuity test
- Inverter commissioning
- Ensure system is ready for grid connection.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports.
- Record:
- Work progress
- Material usage
- Issues or delays
- Coordinate with project manager for updates.
9. Client Coordination
- Communicate with site owner / building management.
- Handle site issues and installation approvals.
- Support handover after project completion.
10. Project Completion & Handover
- Ensure system is fully installed and tested.
- Support net meter installation process.
- Help prepare handover documents and system manuals.
