Media Sales Development Representative – (North America) Location: Remote Reports to: Sales Lead
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven and strategic sales professional to lead the generation of advertising revenue for our flagship Indian media brands from the North American market. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a cross-cultural business environment, has a strong understanding of Indian diaspora dynamics, and can position our media as a powerful vehicle for brand storytelling and audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Planning & Strategy
· Analyze client portfolios, agency alignments, competitor landscape, market trends, media mix, and share of wallet.
· Formulate data-backed sales strategies and actionable plans for the region.
· Align goals with internal stakeholders in India and US and collaborate closely with the sales planning team.
Business Development
· Identify and prospect high-potential brands and agencies with interest in reaching Indian consumers.
· Conduct consultative meetings and deliver customized advertising solutions including digital and print media.
· Create and pitch proposals, negotiate rates, and close deals to grow new and repeat business.
Category & Brand Development
· Champion select brand categories to increase their media spend.
· Promote Times Group’s properties across North American clients & their touchpoints.
· Collaborate on pricing packages, value-added offerings, and go-to-market storytelling.
Smart Sell Initiatives & Opportunity Mapping
· Stay current on diaspora trends, new brand launches, and market shifts.
· Develop and execute special packages, events, or seasonal promotions.
· Leverage internal research and innovation to craft fresh market propositions.
Client Servicing & Relationship Management
· Build and nurture strong relationships with brand managers and agency stakeholders.
· Maintain high client satisfaction through proactive support and internal coordination.
· Educate clients on media effectiveness and evolving offerings.
Sales Reporting & Target Achievement
· Track sales activity, deal progress, and revenue realization.
· Submit sales reports and participate in daily/weekly reviews.
Key Qualifications
· 5–10 years of media, ad sales experience, preferably with international exposure.
· Proven ability to pitch, negotiate, and close high-value deals.
· Demonstrated experience engaging with enterprise-level/B2B clients and ideally a strong rolodex of such relationships
· Familiarity with Indian media ecosystem
· Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
· Highly motivated, self-driven, and organized with a consultative sales mindset.
