Job Summary
The Industrial Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining workplace safety programs to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents, promoting a safety culture, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
Risk Assessment & Incident Investigation
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare investigation reports and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of incidents, injuries, and safety observations.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, OSHA standards, Factories Act, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with government authorities during inspections and audits.
- Maintain safety documentation, permits, and legal records.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
- Organize toolbox talks, emergency drills, and safety awareness campaigns.
- Train employees on PPE usage, fire safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), chemical handling, and emergency response.
Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Coordinate fire drills and evacuation exercises.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of firefighting equipment and emergency systems.
- Participate in emergency response and crisis management activities.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track safety performance indicators and prepare monthly safety reports.
- Maintain safety records, audit reports, and compliance documentation.
- Recommend continuous improvements to safety systems and processes.
Contractor Safety Management
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Conduct contractor safety orientations and evaluations.
- Verify work permits for high-risk activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Diploma/Certification in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) regulations.
- Certified Safety Officer qualification preferred.
Experience
- 3-8 years of safety experience in manufacturing, engineering, chemical, automotive, FMCG, or industrial plants.
- Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety audits.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
