Principal Infoblox Engineer (DDI / IPAM / DNS / DHCP / GSLB)
We are seeking a Principal Infoblox Engineer to lead the architecture, engineering, and automation of enterprise DDI services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) and Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB). This role owns the reliability, security, scalability, and lifecycle management of Infoblox platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. You will serve as one of the senior technical authorities, partnering with Network, Security, Cloud, and Application teams to deliver highly available, compliant, and automated DDI capabilities. The ideal candidate will also bring broad network security experience, including familiarity with firewalls, load balancers, and proxy technologies.
Platform Engineering & Architecture:
- Lead Infoblox DDI architecture and engineering
- Design and maintain DNS, DHCP, IPAM services
- Manage GSLB including policies, health checks, and failover
- Define DNS and IP addressing standards
Operational Excellence:
- Manage monitoring, patching, upgrades, and capacity
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis
- Define KPIs and SLOs
Automation:
- Develop automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform
- Build reusable infrastructure-as-code modules
ITSM / ServiceNow:
- Integrate workflows into ServiceNow ITSM processes
- Enable self-service and change management compliance
Security & Governance:
- Enforce DNS security best practices
- Partner with network security teams on firewall, load balancer, and proxy integrations and policy alignment
- Support compliance and audit readiness
Leadership:
- Mentor engineers and guide cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
14+ years of experience required.
- Expert experience with DNS, DHCP, IPAM
- Strong Infoblox platform experience
- Experience with GSLB
- Deep DNS architecture knowledge
- General network security experience, including firewalls, load balancers, and proxy technologies
- ServiceNow and ITSM process experience
- Automation using Python and Ansible/Terraform
- API integration experience
- Hybrid/cloud DNS experience
- Experience with DNS and GTM hosted vendors (Akamai, UltraDNS, NS1)
- Familiarity with enterprise networking and security infrastructure, including firewalls, load balancers, and proxy platforms
- DNS security knowledge
- Automation and self-service experience
- Monitoring/observability familiarity
- Strong documentation skills
- Deep technical expertise in DNS, DHCP, GSLB and IPAM technologies
- Working knowledge of adjacent network security technologies such as firewalls, load balancers, and proxies
- Strong troubleshooting skills
