Job Summary
A Revenue Officer is responsible for assessing, collecting, monitoring, and managing revenue-related matters such as taxes, government dues, fees, or organizational income. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, maintaining accurate records, investigating discrepancies, and supporting revenue collection activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and process revenue-related accounts, taxes, fees, or charges.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on collections.
- Review financial records and verify the accuracy of submitted information.
- Conduct audits, inspections, or investigations when required.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Prepare revenue reports, statements, and analytical summaries.
- Handle taxpayer/customer inquiries and provide guidance on procedures.
- Maintain accurate databases and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments, financial institutions, and government agencies.
- Identify revenue leakages and recommend corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in revenue administration, taxation, finance, or compliance (requirements vary by employer).
- Knowledge of tax laws, revenue regulations, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial management systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
