Job Summary
The Fitter – Pickling Plant is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used in the pickling process. This includes pumps, pipelines, tanks, conveyors, rollers, gearboxes, and other machinery exposed to acidic environments. The role ensures smooth plant operations, minimizes downtime, and maintains safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of pickling line equipment.
- Repair and replace pumps, valves, pipelines, bearings, and gearboxes.
- Maintain acid tanks, rinse tanks, and related mechanical structures.
- Align and install motors, rollers, and conveyor systems.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions.
- Fabricate and modify parts as required using welding and fitting tools.
- Ensure proper sealing and corrosion protection of equipment.
- Work closely with electrical and production teams for coordinated maintenance.
- Maintain maintenance records and reports.
- Follow safety procedures, especially when handling acids and hazardous chemicals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance (experience in pickling plant preferred).
- Knowledge of pumps, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and industrial piping.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and layouts.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Understanding of corrosion-resistant materials and acid-handling systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
