Job Summary
The Junior Quality Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting construction activities to ensure quality standards are maintained across all stages of project execution. The role involves site inspections, quality checks, documentation, coordination with site engineers and contractors, and ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction activities meet quality standards
- Verify workmanship in civil, structural, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, painting, and finishing works
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Identify quality deviations and report non-conformities to the Project Engineer
- Monitor rectification of quality defects and ensure timely closure
- Maintain inspection records, checklists, quality reports, and documentation
- Coordinate with Site Engineers, Contractors, Consultants, and Project Managers on quality-related matters
- Verify material quality at site before usage
- Assist in conducting stage-wise quality inspections during project execution
- Support implementation of quality control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards at the project site
Requirements
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- 0–2 years of experience in Construction Quality, Site Engineering, or Quality Inspection
- Freshers with strong technical knowledge are encouraged to apply
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and civil engineering practices
- Knowledge of RCC, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, flooring, and finishing works
- Good communication, observation, and reporting skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of residential and villa construction
- Familiarity with quality inspection checklists and site documentation
- Ability to identify construction defects and suggest corrective actions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to travel between project sites in and around Coimbatore
