Job description
The Data Advisory& Insights Specialist is a key member of the Global ERP organization within a leading Swiss pharmaceutical company, reporting to the ERP Business Operations Lead (member of the ERP Leadership Team). This role designs, builds, and runs the ERP program's performance management capability — translating complex program, financial, and operational data into actionable insights for the ERP Leadership Team.
You will own the end-to-end insights value chain: from data quality and automation (leveraging AI where it adds value), through dashboard and reporting solutions, to proactive identification of emerging risks and strategic advisory to senior leadership. This role requires deep analytical expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence decision-making at the leadership level — combining hands-on delivery with strategic thinking.
Description of the area
The Global ERP team drives one of the company's largest transformation programs, implementing and sustaining a harmonized ERP landscape across the enterprise. The Business Operations function provides the department with workforce planning, financial steering, governance, and performance management — ensuring leadership has the transparency and insights needed to steer a complex, multi-year, global program.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to senior business leaders, ideally within large transformation programs (ERP/SAP context a strong plus).
- Proven track record of building and running performance management or business intelligence solutions in complex, global organizations.
- Experience with program/portfolio reporting, financial planning data, or workforce analytics is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) and advanced analytical methodologies.
- Strong capability in managing, integrating, and analyzing enterprise-level datasets from multiple sources.
- Hands-on experience applying AI and automation to data quality, reporting, or insight generation; productive use of AI tools in daily work.
- Ability to design, implement, and own end-to-end reporting frameworks — from data pipeline to executive-level presentation.
Additional Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, decision-ready narratives for senior leadership.
- Deep understanding of how data-driven decision-making supports program steering and business strategy.
- Proactive, ownership-driven mindset — comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving global program environment.
- Strong collaboration skills across functions, geographies, and cultures; experience working in global delivery models (e.g., with European headquarters) is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- ERP Performance Management: Design, build, and operate the ERP performance management framework — dashboards, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms that consolidate program, financial, workforce, and delivery data into a coherent picture for the ERP Leadership Team.
- Proactive Insights& Early Warning: Move beyond retrospective reporting — develop forward-looking analytics that identify emerging risks, delivery bottlenecks, and financial deviations before they materialize, enabling preventive action.
- Data Quality Management: Establish and run data quality processes across program data sources, leveraging AI and automation to detect anomalies, reduce manual effort, and continuously improve the reliability of insights.
- Applied AI: Identify, pilot, and scale AI-driven use cases within Business Operations and performance management — from automated data validation to insight generation — acting as a practical AI adoption driver within the team.
- Strategic Advisory: Advise the ERP Leadership Team on strategic actions grounded in data — framing options, quantifying trade-offs, and influencing decisions on resourcing, prioritization, and program steering.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with program leads, finance, portfolio, and workforce planning functions to align on data definitions, sources, and reporting standards; act as a trusted analytical counterpart to senior stakeholders.
- Content Leadership: Shape the methodologies, tooling, and standards of the performance management practice; guide and mentor junior specialists as the capability grows.
