Job Summary
The Transport Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring transportation operations to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods or personnel. The role involves vendor coordination, route planning, compliance, and cost control.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities1. Transport Planning & Coordination
- Plan daily vehicle requirements based on dispatch schedules
- Allocate vehicles efficiently to optimize cost and time
- Ensure timely availability of vehicles for inbound and outbound logistics
2. Vendor Management
- Coordinate with transporters and logistics vendors
- Negotiate freight rates and contracts
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues
3. Dispatch & Delivery Management
- Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery
- Handle delays, breakdowns, or emergency situations
- Maintain dispatch records and proof of delivery (POD)
- Handle material unloading on site.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all transport documents are accurate (LR, e-way bills, invoices)
- Getting signed & stamped documents on time.
5. Cost Control & Optimization
- Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Optimize routes and load planning
- Prepare transport cost reports and MIS
6. Coordination with Internal Teams
- Work closely with Purchase, Warehouse, and Sales teams
- Align dispatch priorities with customer requirements
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation operations
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills
- Familiarity with e-way bills, GST documentation, and compliance
- Excellent planning and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
- Good communication and coordination skills
Educational Qualification
- Graduate (Preferred: Logistics, Supply Chain, or Commerce)
Experience
- 2–5 years in transport/logistics operations
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
