The researcher will be expected to resolve welding and joining issues faced by our Internal (TSL plants) and External customers. These solutions will be at component level, for which the following expertise are required:
- Expertise in welding and joining processes, welding metallurgy, static and dynamic evaluation of weld joints,
- Understanding of welding‑induced thermal effects (residual stresses/distortion) and the structural integrity of welded structure,
- Knowledge and use of finite element methods in different applications of steels e.g., automotive/ construction,
- Knowledge of Integrated Computational Welding Engineering,
- Knowledge of software packages e.g., SYSWELD, SORPAS, SIMUFACT Welding, ANSYS, ABAQUS, etc.
Hands on experience of SYSWELD, SORPAS, SIMUFACT welding
