We are looking for a Snowflake API Developer / Data Product Engineer to design and build API-driven data products on top of Snowflake's native capabilities, including Cortex and the Snowflake API stack. This is an end-to-end ownership role: you will model data within Snowflake, build logical semantic views spanning our banking domains (consumer, small business, and wealth), expose those views through REST APIs, and deliver outputs in structured JSON and YAML formats for downstream and external consumption.
You will operate as the bridge between data engineering and API development — translating well-governed data assets into productized, consumable interfaces. The ideal candidate combines deep Snowflake engineering expertise with strong API design instincts and a track record of shipping production data products that external parties depend on.
What You'll Own
- Data modeling in Snowflake — Design and maintain performant, well-governed data models that serve as the foundation for reusable data products.
- Semantic layer — Build and maintain logical semantic views across banking domains (consumer, small business, wealth), creating a consistent, business-aligned interface over underlying physical data.
- API design & delivery — Expose semantic views and data products via REST APIs, applying sound API design patterns (versioning, pagination, filtering, authentication/authorization, rate limiting, error handling).
- Structured outputs — Deliver data product outputs in JSON and YAML, with schemas and contracts that are predictable, documented, and stable for external consumers.
- Cortex / LLM integration — Integrate Snowflake Cortex LLM functions into data products where they add value (e.g., enrichment, summarization, natural-language access, semantic search).
- Snowflake engineering — Build and optimize stored procedures, dynamic SQL, and other server-side logic to power data product behavior at scale.
- Production readiness — Ensure data products meet production standards for reliability, observability, performance, security, and governance — including data products consumed outside the organization.
- Collaboration — Work across data engineering, platform, security, and product teams to align data product interfaces with business and consumer needs.
