Job Summary
The Operation Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day logistics and transportation operations. The role includes ensuring timely pickups and deliveries, fleet and manpower management, warehouse coordination, customer satisfaction, cost control, SOP implementation, and achieving operational KPIs.
Key Responsibilities1. Operations Management
- Manage daily transportation and logistics operations.
- Ensure on-time vehicle placement, dispatch, and delivery.
- Monitor shipment movement and resolve operational issues.
- Maintain smooth coordination between branches, hubs, and customers.
- Ensure all consignments are handled safely and accurately.
2. Fleet Management
- Monitor vehicle availability and utilization.
- Coordinate with transporters and drivers.
- Reduce vehicle idle time and improve fleet productivity.
- Ensure vehicle maintenance and legal compliance.
3. Warehouse & Hub Operations
- Supervise inbound and outbound operations.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and material handling.
- Ensure proper loading, unloading, scanning, and documentation.
- Maintain warehouse safety and housekeeping standards.
4. Team Management
- Lead operations executives, supervisors, warehouse staff, and drivers.
- Prepare manpower planning and shift schedules.
- Conduct training on SOPs and safety.
- Monitor employee performance and productivity.
5. Customer Service
- Maintain excellent service levels.
- Handle customer complaints and provide timely resolutions.
- Coordinate with Key Account Managers for service improvements.
- Ensure customer KPIs and SLAs are achieved.
6. Cost Control
- Control transportation and operating costs.
- Monitor fuel, toll, labour, and vehicle expenses.
- Improve route planning and vehicle utilization.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without affecting service quality.
7. Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure proper documentation for shipments.
- Monitor POD collection and submission.
- Maintain compliance with GST, E-Way Bills, and transport regulations.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and customer guidelines.
8. MIS & Reporting
- Prepare Daily Operations MIS.
- Monitor delivery performance and pending shipments.
- Report operational KPIs to management.
- Analyze data and implement process improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (MBA preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in PTL, FTL, 3PL, Express Logistics, or E-commerce logistics is preferred.
