About the Role
We are looking for a Creative Content Researcher who lives and breathes the internet — someone who instinctively understands what makes content spread, why certain formats work, and how trends rise and fade across social platforms. This role sits at the heart of our content pipeline: the Creative Content Researcher sources and shapes raw content ideas that editors then bring to life, and is directly accountable for ensuring that content is engaging, original, and fully compliant with platform guidelines and applicable regulations before it moves forward in the workflow.
Key Responsibilities
▪ Source, curate, and shape content ideas that are trend-relevant, engaging, and suited to short-form / Snapchat-style storytelling.
▪ Stay continuously plugged into internet culture — viral trends, meme formats, emerging content styles — and translate that awareness into fresh content directions before trends peak.
▪ Maintain strong working knowledge of social media platform policies, community guidelines, and content regulations, and ensure every piece of sourced content is fully compliant before handoff.
▪ Proactively identify and flag potential violations — copyright issues, platform policy breaches, region-specific regulatory concerns, or sensitive/prohibited material — before content reaches production.
▪ Understand how social media platforms actually work — algorithmic reach, engagement mechanics, retention drivers — and use that understanding to guide sharper content decisions.
▪ Partner closely with video editors and Team Leads to ensure research direction and creative execution stay aligned.
▪ Review and quality-check sourced content before it is handed off, taking ownership of accuracy, originality, and overall content quality.
▪ Provide leadership and mentorship within the content research function — guiding junior researchers, setting quality standards, and taking accountability for the team's output.
▪ Take responsibility for mistakes when they occur, and drive continuous improvement in the sourcing and review process.
What We're Looking For
▪ Excellent internet fluency — deep, current familiarity with meme culture, viral formats, and how content actually moves online.
▪ Working knowledge of social media platform policies, community guidelines, and content regulations relevant to the platforms we operate on.
▪ A genuine understanding of how social media works — what drives reach, engagement, and virality — not just what content looks like.
▪ A sharp, current sense of social media trends, with the ability to spot what's rising before it becomes mainstream.
▪ Demonstrated leadership qualities — the ability to guide, mentor, and hold a team to a quality standard, and to take ownership of outcomes rather than just tasks.
▪ Strong judgment around content appropriateness, brand safety, and compliance risk.
▪ Clear communication skills and the ability to work closely with editors and cross-functional teams.
▪ Prior experience in content research, social media management, or digital content curation is preferred.
Qualifications
▪ Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field is preferred, though not mandatory for candidates with strong relevant experience.
▪ Prior experience working with fast-paced, high-volume social/short-form content is an advantage.
▪ A demonstrable track record of identifying trends or curating content that performed well is a strong plus.
