We are looking for an experienced, high-energy Senior Manager – Operations to oversee the planning, execution, and logistical success of our diverse event portfolio. In this key leadership role, you will bridge creative vision with operational reality. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor networks, control event budgets, and ensure that every event—from multi-day corporate summits to large-scale experiential brand activations—runs flawlessly from concept to tear-down.
Key Responsibilities1. Operational Strategy & Execution
- Lead end-to-end operational planning for complex, large-scale events, including site selection, load-in/load-out schedules, spatial layouts, and run-of-show logistics.
- Develop, standardise, and enforce operational SOPs, safety protocols, and risk mitigation strategies across all events.
- Serve as the senior point of escalation on-site during event execution, resolving live issues quickly and calmly.
2. Vendor & Supply Chain Management
- Build, negotiate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers, including AV/tech production, staging, catering, security, venue partners, and decor teams.
- Manage procurement processes to secure competitive pricing while maintaining high quality standards.
- Oversee vendor performance compliance, contract terms, and SLAs.
3. Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Direct and mentor a team of Event Managers, Coordinators, and on-site support crew; manage staffing allocations across concurrent project lifecycles.
- Foster a collaborative, fast-paced work environment built on clear communication and accountability.
- Conduct post-event debriefs, team performance evaluations, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
4. Budgetary & Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with account directors to build and manage event operational budgets ranging from $[X] to$[Y].
- Monitor project expenditure, track real-time variance, and optimize margins without sacrificing quality.
- Approve supplier invoices, reconcile post-event expenses, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 6–10+ years of progressive experience in event management, live production, or experiential operations, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Proven Track Record: Proven history of successfully producing complex, multi-stakeholder corporate, trade, or public events.
- Vendor Network: Established network of trusted suppliers, production houses, and venue partners preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Fluent with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, Trello), event layout software (CAD, Vectorworks, or AllSeated), and budgeting software.
- Travel & Flexibility: Willingness to work non-standard hours (evenings, weekends) and travel extensively during peak event seasons.
