Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Unit Finance Manager to manage financial accounting, MIS, doctor payouts, accounts payable and receivable, revenue reconciliation, treasury operations, and bank reconciliations for the assigned units.
The role will work closely with the Unit Finance Team, Facility Directors (FDs), Controllership Team, Corporate Finance, Treasury, and Operations Teams to ensure accurate accounting, timely reporting, effective financial controls, and timely book closure.
Note: Based on the candidate's experience, skills, and organizational requirements, the candidate may also be considered for another suitable role at the Corporate Office, based on mutual discussion.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. MIS & Financial Accounting
Book Closure
- Coordinate with the Unit Controllership Team, Facility Directors (FDs), and respective unit teams to ensure timely accounting of all invoices.
- Prepare and maintain prepaid and provisions trackers.
- Ensure required Journal Vouchers (JVs) are prepared and posted in Navision.
- Review accounting entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure timely closure of books of accounts for the respective units within the prescribed timelines.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve accounting issues identified during the month-end closure process.
MIS
- Coordinate with FDs and unit finance teams for preparation of monthly MIS.
- Consolidate and review financial data received from respective units.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of monthly MIS reports.
- Analyse financial information and highlight significant variances or issues to the management.
B. Doctor Payout
- Collate required inputs from HIS, OT/LDR Registers, Doctor Agreements, and other relevant sources.
- Prepare the monthly Doctor Payout Working based on applicable agreements and approved terms.
- Validate payout calculations and supporting documents.
- Discuss the payout working with the Facility Director and Corporate Finance Team.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to finalise doctor payouts within the prescribed timelines.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of doctor payout calculations.
C. Accounts Payable
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting of vendor invoices.
- Coordinate with Unit Finance Executives for invoice verification and processing.
- Monitor vendor outstanding balances and payment due dates.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Treasury Team for timely release of vendor payments within agreed credit periods.
- Follow up on pending invoices and resolve discrepancies with the concerned teams.
- Ensure proper accounting and documentation of vendor transactions.
D. Accounts Receivable & Revenue Reconciliation
Revenue Reconciliation
- Coordinate with Unit Finance Executives to ensure that FM and credit billing is correctly flowing into Navision as AR invoices.
- Reconcile Navision AR invoices with the HIS Bill Register.
- Identify and follow up on billing/revenue mismatches.
Cash Collection & Revenue Reconciliation
- Reconcile cash collections with revenue and ensure all bills are appropriately settled.
- Ensure revenue is correctly accounted for and corresponding receipts are recorded.
- Identify discrepancies and coordinate with the respective units for timely resolution.
IP/OP Cash Collection Control Account
- Prepare and provide reconciliation details of the IP/OP Cash Collection Control Account.
- Ensure the control account reflects only deposits relating to patients admitted/treated at the hospital.
- Investigate and resolve unreconciled balances.
Receipt Entries
- Review receipt entries prepared by associates in the Excel upload file.
- Verify entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Upload approved receipt entries into Navision.
- Ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained.
Debtors Ageing
- Prepare and provide Debtors Ageing Reports from Navision.
- Review outstanding receivables and coordinate with respective teams for collection and reconciliation.
E. Treasury & Bank Reconciliation
- Reconcile cash collection and receivable accounts on a regular basis.
- Coordinate with AR/AP teams to ensure all receipts and payment entries appearing in bank statements are accurately accounted for in Navision.
- Ensure Unit Finance Teams prepare Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) for all bank accounts operated by the respective units.
- Review BRS and ensure timely resolution of unreconciled items.
- Ensure all clearing account balances are periodically reviewed and cleared to facilitate smooth book closure.
- Provide details of write-offs/write-backs along with appropriate supporting justification.
- Obtain Cash Card Reconciliation from all units.
- Ensure Unit Finance Executives prepare a consolidated collection tracker for all centres and share it with the Corporate Finance Team.
- Ensure cash deposit slips are collected from different centres and matched with the CMS Report.
- Verify that cash collected and deposited matches the Collection Summary from Insta HMS.
- Follow up with respective units for any cash deposit mismatches.
- Review unreconciled collection accounts and coordinate with units for timely resolution.
- Monitor cash handling and reconciliation processes to ensure adequate financial controls.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and month-end book closure.
- Experience in MIS preparation and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Hands-on experience in revenue and cash reconciliation.
- Good knowledge of Bank Reconciliation and Treasury Operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience working with ERP systems; knowledge of Navision is preferred.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple units and meet strict reporting timelines.
- Strong attention to detail and financial control orientation.
- Prior experience in the healthcare/hospital industry will be an added advantage.
Education & Experience
- Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA Inter or equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in a healthcare/hospital environment.
- Experience in managing unit-level finance operations and coordinating with corporate finance teams will be preferred.
