Samms Tech SPM Automation is seeking a skilled Welder with experience in fabricating and welding machine structures, frames, fixtures, and industrial equipment used in Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of various welding processes, be able to read fabrication drawings, and ensure high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on MS, SS, and other metals as per engineering drawings.
- Fabricate machine frames, base structures, fixtures, and fabricated components for SPM machines.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Ensure proper alignment, fit-up, and dimensional accuracy before and after welding.
- Operate welding machines, gas cutting equipment, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely.
- Inspect welded joints for quality and rectify defects when required.
- Work closely with the fabrication, assembly, and design teams to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper housekeeping in the work area.
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during welding operations.
- Support machine installation and fabrication activities when required.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and structural welding.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience in welding machine frames and SPM structures.
- Good understanding of measuring instruments such as measuring tape, steel rule, vernier caliper, and spirit level.
- Ability to use grinders, cutting machines, and fabrication tools.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
