Role Overview
The Skilled Butcher / Livestock Cutter will be responsible for handling live goats, understanding approximate meat yield (hunda-hundi), assisting in purchase and sale processes under instruction, and performing professional slaughtering and cutting work as per hygiene and halal practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesLivestock Handling & Assessment
- Handle live goats safely and professionally
- Assess approximate meat yield using hunda-hundi method
- Assist in identifying healthy animals suitable for sale or cutting
Market & Sale Support
- Support buying and selling activities strictly as per company instructions
- Assist during market transactions without independent negotiation
- Help in communicating weight/yield expectations to buyers when instructed
Slaughtering & Cutting Work
- Perform proper slaughtering and cutting of goats
- Ensure clean, efficient, and hygienic cutting practices
- Maintain quality of meat as per market and buyer expectations
Hygiene & Compliance
- Follow cleanliness, safety, and halal handling standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work area properly
- Follow instructions related to animal welfare and food safety
Discipline & Reporting
- Work under Field Operations In-Charge / Management instructions
- Report any issues, losses, or irregularities immediately
- Maintain discipline and avoid conflicts at the workplace
Who Can ApplyExperience Required
- Practical experience as a butcher / cutter in goat markets or meat shops
Skills Required
- Strong hands-on cutting skills
- Good understanding of goat meat yield and quality
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Team-oriented and disciplined
Language
- Bengali required
- Hindi preferred
Education
- No formal education required
- Skill and experience matter most
- Must know hunda-hundi estimation, live animal handling, and cutting work
- Experience in Kolkata meat markets preferred
