- Perform collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of laboratory specimens in accordance with NABL standards and hospital policies.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, ensuring proper documentation of maintenance and quality checks.
- Follow NABL quality management system (QMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal quality control (IQC) and external quality assurance (EQAS) protocols.
- Ensure accurate labeling, handling, storage, and disposal of patient samples while maintaining specimen integrity and traceability.
- Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records, registers, logs, and documentation as required for NABL compliance and audits.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control practices, biomedical waste management guidelines, and laboratory safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report critical values and abnormal test results promptly to the concerned clinicians as per the hospital's critical value reporting policy.
- Monitor laboratory inventory by maintaining adequate stock levels of reagents, consumables, and other laboratory supplies, and report shortages to the Lab In-charge.
- Participate in NABL audits, quality improvement initiatives, staff competency assessments, and continuous training programs to ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality, professional ethics, and effective communication with clinicians, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate laboratory services.
