Role Overview:
Establish and enforce an independent quality system across incoming, in-process and final inspection so product
quality is never compromised by production load. Empowered to hold or reject despatch on quality grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run incoming material inspection (SS sheet, coils, components), in-process checks and final inspection before
despatch.
•
Inspect welding and seam welding for defects; define and enforce acceptance criteria; oversee leak/hydro
testing of tanks and pressure vessels.
- Verify PUF insulation quality — density, adhesion and coverage — on insulated tanks and solar water heaters.
•
Inspect heat pump water heater components — compressors, controls, refrigerant handling — and carry out
wiring safety and functional/performance checks.
- Own BIS documentation and audits (e.g., IS 12933 for solar flat-plate collectors and applicable pressure-vessel
standards); maintain test and calibration records.
•
Log defects, drive root-cause analysis (CAPA) with production, and prevent recurrence.
- Create inspection checklists and quality SOPs; train operators on quality standards; maintain traceability
records.
Requirements:
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production or Metallurgical Engineering.
•
3–7 years' experience in QA/QC in sheet-metal fabrication, tanks, pressure vessels or similar.
- Knowledge of welding inspection, NDT basics, dimensional inspection and testing instruments (calipers, gauges,
hardness/leak/hydro test).
- Exposure to BIS / ISO 9001 / third-party audits and certification documentation.
- Firm, evidence-based communicator who can stand ground with production under pressure.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
