Software Tester responsible for ensuring quality and reliability of software applications through systematic testing. Involves manual testing, bug identification, validation, and coordination with development teams to deliver error-free applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand project requirements, specifications, and user stories
- Prepare test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
- Perform manual testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications
- Identify, report, and track bugs using defect management tools
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Work closely with developers and product teams to resolve issues
- Validate fixes and perform retesting
- Perform API testing and basic database validation
- Ensure software meets quality standards and client requirements
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and agile testing processes
- Document test results and maintain testing reports
- Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with clients
- Ensure application usability and performance
- Maintain test data and testing environments
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle)
- Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
- Experience in manual testing and bug tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Basic knowledge of SQL and API testing
- Understanding of web technologies and databases
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and documentation skills
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Experience
- 1–4 years of experience in software testing (Freshers with strong basics can apply)
Other Requirements
- Only candidates from Western Line (Mumbai suburban railway) preferred
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work in agile environment
