Manju Groups is seeking an experienced and dynamic Civil Project Head to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of residential plotting and villa projects across Chennai and Tamil Nadu. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in end-to-end project management, vendor coordination, quality control, statutory compliance, and timely project delivery while ensuring cost optimization and superior construction standards.
The role requires frequent travel across project locations in Chennai and Tamil Nadu.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Execution
- Lead and manage multiple residential plotting and villa projects from inception to handover.
- Develop project schedules, resource allocation plans, and execution strategies.
- Ensure projects are completed within timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to address delays.
Construction Management
- Supervise all civil construction activities including:
- Site development
- Roads
- Stormwater drains
- Compound walls
- Water supply systems
- Sewerage systems
- Villa construction
- Infrastructure development
- Ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards.
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and contractors.
Quality & Safety
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Conduct periodic site inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Maintain zero-compromise standards on workmanship and materials.
Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare project budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Optimize material procurement and contractor costs.
- Evaluate contractor bills and certify work completion.
- Minimize wastage and improve cost efficiency.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Appoint and manage contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Evaluate contractor performance.
- Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Negotiate commercial terms when required.
Statutory & Liaison Coordination
- Coordinate with government departments and local authorities for project approvals and infrastructure-related works.
- Ensure compliance with CMDA, DTCP, Local Panchayat, Municipal, and other statutory regulations.
Team Leadership
- Lead site engineers, project engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
- Conduct regular project review meetings.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams.
- Build a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly project status reports.
- Present project updates to senior management.
- Highlight project risks and recommend mitigation plans.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech Civil).
- Master's Degree in Construction Management (preferred).
- PMP or Project Management certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 15–20 years of experience in civil construction.
- Minimum 8 years managing plotting developments and villa projects.
- Experience in the real estate industry is mandatory.
- Proven experience handling multiple project sites simultaneously.
- Experience in infrastructure development for residential layouts is essential.
