A Furniture Fitter (or Assembler) in a manufacturing setting is responsible for interpreting blueprints, assembling wooden and modular components, and installing hardware to build finished products. They ensure structural integrity and strict adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Education & Experience: ITI certification in the Fitter trade, carpentry, or a similar mechanical field is highly preferred. 1-3 years of proven work experience in modular furniture manufacturing or a related trade.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical principles and the operation of power/pneumatic tools.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to work standing for extended periods and lift heavy raw materials or parts safely.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent eye for aesthetics, measurements, and structural symmetry
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists, and layout plans.
- Assembly & Fitting: Pre-position parts, apply adhesives, and assemble sub-assemblies (seats, uprights, veneers) following exact production orders.
- Hardware Installation: Mount hinges, handles, locks, drawer channels, and other metal connectors.
- Quality Control: Verify assembly conformity regarding squareness, clearance, and stability. Make necessary adjustments and final tightening.
- Maintenance: Conduct minor repairs on manufactured furniture and maintain hand/power tools in good working order.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Pay: ₹9,015.71 - ₹29,359.74 per month
