About the Role
EVITAR SYSTEMS is looking for an experienced NPD Engineer to support the end-to-end development and industrialization of new products and assemblies for defence applications.
The role involves new supplier development, manufacturing process setup, prototype and first-article production, vendor coordination, and production ramp-up. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in NPD, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering, along with strong exposure to suppliers, vendors, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. New Supplier Development
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for machined, fabricated, plastic, and other precision-engineered components.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments covering quality, process capability, capacity, and compliance.
- Coordinate supplier audits, trials, sample approvals, and first-article activities.
- Work with procurement and suppliers on technical specifications, timelines, and cost considerations.
2. New Product & Process Development
- Develop and establish manufacturing processes for new products and product variants.
- Prepare and manage BOMs and related manufacturing documentation.
- Create and validate process flow diagrams, work instructions, SOPs, and control plans.
- Work on manufacturing processes such as machining, laser cutting, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
- Support tooling, fixture, and testing setup development.
- Provide DFM/DFA inputs to design teams.
- Identify alternate sources or components and evaluate their technical suitability.
3. NPD Execution & Industrialization
- Support prototype development, first-article production, and production ramp-up.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing issues during early production builds through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Design, and Sourcing teams for smooth transition to mass production.
- Track NPD project timelines, risks, and deliverables.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in NPD, New Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in supplier development and vendor coordination.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, plastic injection, 3D printing, or mechanical assembly.
- Experience in new product/process industrialization or setting up new manufacturing processes/production lines.
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Candidates with experience in precision engineering, aerospace, defence, automotive, or similar manufacturing environments will be preferred.
Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
