Electrical Tendering Engineer – Industrial Projects
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically competent Electrical Tendering Engineer to prepare competitive and accurate techno-commercial proposals for industrial electrical projects. The role involves reviewing tender documents, preparing cost estimates, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring timely submission of bids while maintaining compliance with client specifications and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems, including HT/LT panels, transformers, switchgear, cabling, lighting, earthing, and instrumentation interfaces.
- Perform quantity take-offs from electrical drawings and specifications.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors and conduct technical and commercial evaluations.
- Prepare techno-commercial offers, bid summaries, deviations, assumptions, and clarifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management, and finance teams during bid preparation.
- Analyze project risks and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions when required.
- Support contract handover to the project execution team after award.
- Maintain a database of historical costs, vendor pricing, and tender documentation.
- Monitor bid submission schedules and ensure all proposals are submitted within deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 3–8 years of experience in electrical tendering, estimation, or proposal engineering for industrial projects.
- Experience in sectors such as pharmaceuticals industries, food & beverage, oil & gas, or Turnkey Projects preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to interpret electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, and technical specifications.
- Experience in quantity estimation and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and estimation software is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant IEC, IS, IEEE, and client-specific standards.
