Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Server Administrator to manage and maintain our server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role requires hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, virtualization technologies, and enterprise backup platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting Active Directory, Group Policies, and virtualized systems across Hyper-V and VMware platforms.
️ Key Responsibilities
- Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including domain controllers, file servers, and application servers.
- Active Directory & Group Policies: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies through Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- ️ Virtualization Management: Administer and optimize virtual environments using Hyper-V and VMware technologies.
- Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage enterprise backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Monitoring & Performance : Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity; fix and resolve system issues proactively .
- Patch Management: Apply system updates, patches, and service packs in accordance with security and compliance standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, procedures, and infrastructure changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network, security, and application teams to support integrated IT operations and projects.
- Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of experience in server administration within a mid-to-large scale environment.
- Strong expertise in:
- Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025)
- Active Directory and Group Policy Management
- Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi
- Backup platforms (Commvault preferred)
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VMware VCP, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience working in a large global enterprise a plus
