About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, highly skilled Engineering Executive/ Senior Engineer to independently lead and take direct ownership of all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations for our premier 5-star hotel property.
Reporting directly to General Management, you will be the single point of contact for the physical integrity, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems, life safety, energy management, and day-to-day technical uptime of the entire property. You will lead an on-site team of skilled technicians and supervise external contractors to uphold uncompromising 5-star luxury standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Full Physical Plant & MEP Operations
● Maintain 100% uptime and operational readiness across central plants: HVAC (Chillers/AHUs/FCUs), Boilers, Hot Water Systems, WTP/STP, Electrical Sub-stations, Transformers, and DG sets.
● Drive daily maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, commercial kitchens, laundry facilities, and guest amenities (swimming pool, spa, etc.).
● Design, implement, and track a rigorous Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to eliminate emergency breakdowns and extend asset lifespan.
2. Hands-On Team Leadership & Vendor Control
● Direct, schedule, and supervise the daily shifts of the in-house technical team (electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, carpenters, and painters).
● Oversee third-party vendors, equipment OEMs, and AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) service providers, holding them strictly accountable to service-level agreements (SLAs).
● Troubleshoot complex technical breakdowns alongside your team when critical issues arise.
3. Fire, Life, Health, & Safety (FLHS) Compliance
● Act as the property custodian for life safety, ensuring 100% compliance with local statutory codes, building regulations and 5-star fire safety protocols.
● Conduct regular inspections, testing, and upkeep of all Fire Detection & Suppression Systems, Emergency Power Generators, and Life Safety Equipment.
● Coordinate regular staff fire safety drills and emergency response drills in accordance with local regulations.
4. Energy Optimization & Utilities Management
● Log and analyze daily consumption of electricity, water, gas, and diesel to detect inefficiencies, reduce waste, and manage utility bills.
● Implement practical energy conservation measures (LED retrofits, sensor installations, thermal efficiency) in line with modern hospitality sustainability standards.
5. Capital Maintenance & Budget Control
● Manage the department's day-to-day operational expenses (Opex), spare parts inventory, and maintenance logs.
● Assist management in scoping small-to-medium repair projects, minor refurbishments, and capital asset replacements (Capex).
Required Qualifications & Skills
● Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Facilities Engineering.
● Experience: 5–8+ years of hands-on engineering/facilities maintenance experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership capacity (Senior Engineer) within a 5-star hotel, luxury resort, or high-end commercial property.
● Technical Mastery: Strong, multi-disciplinary understanding of modern MEP systems, HVAC plant management, BMS (Building Management Systems), and commercial electrical systems.
● Compliance Knowledge: Practical understanding of local municipal building codes, pollution control board norms, and fire department safety standards.
● Leadership & Communication: Clear communication skills to lead shift technicians and report directly to executive leadership and department heads.
