Position : Software Developer
Location : Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Employment Type : Full-Time
Salary : Approximately ₹50,000-60,000 per month (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
About the Position :
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Software Developer to develop, enhance, maintain, and support the Institution's College Management System (CMS) developed in PHP. The incumbent will be responsible for designing new modules, troubleshooting existing functionalities, ensuring smooth operation of the software, and providing technical support to users across various departments.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech./MCA/M.Sc. (Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent).
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in PHP-based web application development and maintenance.
- Experience in ERP/College Management Systems will be preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of PHP and Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- Proficiency in MySQL database design and management.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and Bootstrap.
- Familiarity with MVC frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter is desirable.
- Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Knowledge of Git and version control systems.
- Understanding of Linux server environment and web hosting concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Apache/Nginx servers and database backup procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Software Development
- Design, develop, and implement new modules and features in the College Management System using PHP.
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into functional software solutions.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following coding standards.
- Develop and integrate APIs and third-party applications as required.
- Participate in software architecture and database design activities.
Software Maintenance and Support
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot existing applications and databases.
- Identify and resolve software bugs, errors, and performance issues.
- Ensure regular updates and enhancements to the College Management System.
- Perform preventive maintenance and optimize system performance.
- Maintain proper version control and documentation of source code and changes.
Database Management
- Manage and maintain MySQL databases.
- Perform database backup, restoration, and optimization activities.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability.
User Support and Training
- Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and administrators.
- Assist users in resolving application-related issues.
- Conduct user training sessions and prepare user manuals/documentation.
- Coordinate with different departments to understand functional requirements and implement solutions accordingly.
System Administration and Security
- Monitor application security and implement necessary safeguards.
- Ensure regular backup of applications and databases.
- Coordinate with server administrators for deployment and hosting activities.
- Ensure compliance with institutional IT policies and data security practices.
