The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, achieving sales targets, managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining store standards. The role requires strong leadership, operational management, and sales skills to drive business growth and profitability.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Manage and supervise all day-to-day store activities.
- Ensure smooth store operations and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of store appearance, cleanliness, merchandising, and visual displays.
- Monitor opening and closing procedures and ensure store security.
Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and customer footfall.
- Analyze sales reports and identify opportunities for business growth.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions when required.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate store staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage employee attendance and performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide coaching to improve productivity and customer service.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment.
Customer Service
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Handle customer complaints, escalations, and feedback effectively.
- Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment.
- Conduct periodic stock audits and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Minimize stock losses, damages, and shrinkage.
- Coordinate with suppliers and warehouse teams for timely stock availability.
Financial Management
- Monitor cash handling, billing operations, and daily sales reconciliation.
- Control store expenses and support profitability objectives.
- Prepare and submit operational and sales reports to management.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to store operations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of retail operations and sales management.
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management software, and MS Office.
