Job Summary
The Fire Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire protection systems and equipment. The role ensures that all fire safety systems are fully operational and comply with applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, and other fire protection equipment.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and periodic inspections as per the maintenance schedule.
- Identify faults in fire protection systems and carry out corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure all fire safety equipment complies with local fire safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and service documentation.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and resolve issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities during inspections and maintenance activities.
- Assist in fire drills and emergency preparedness activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of work areas and maintenance tools.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures at all times.
- Report equipment defects, safety hazards, and recommendations for improvements to the supervisor.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Fire & Safety, or a related technical discipline.
- Fire safety certification is preferred.
- Valid technical certification or licence (where applicable).
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in installation and maintenance of fire protection systems.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or residential fire safety systems is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, and suppression systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and applicable standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
Working Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor work environments.
- May require working at heights, confined spaces, and on-call emergency support.
- Ability to lift and carry maintenance equipment and tools.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all company HSE policies and procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety training.
- Ensure compliance with all fire safety and occupational health regulations.

- Preventive maintenance completion rate.
- System uptime and equipment reliability.
- Response time to maintenance requests.
- Compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Accuracy and timeliness of maintenance documentation.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
