Responsible for assisting in the supervision of maintenance operations at the unit level. The Assistant Manager - Maintenance focuses on executing preventive and breakdown maintenance, monitoring machine uptime, ensuring safety compliance through PPE usage, and driving cost reduction through effective breakdown management and log sheet maintenance.
Coordinate and execute Preventive and Breakdown maintenance for all unit machinery.
Ensure all machines are kept up-to-date and in optimal operating condition through diligent monitoring.
Support the installation of new machines and conduct testing/inspection of electrical systems.
Monitor and enforce strict adherence to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage and safety protocols.
Supervise Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and monitor vendor service quality.
Implement cost-cutting measures by focusing on the reduction of breakdowns and optimized resource use.
Maintain detailed maintenance log sheets and technical documentation for management review.
Manage the rapid response to breakdown calls to minimize production downtime.
Hands-on experience in Preventive and Breakdown maintenance within an industrial environment.
Knowledge of machinery installation, electrical testing, and inspection procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems for maintenance reporting and data tracking.
Strong focus on cost monitoring and downtime reduction techniques.
Good team coordination and supervision skills.
High commitment to safety standards and PPE compliance.
Education: ITI / Diploma / BE (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
Experience: 10 – 15 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
Specific: Practical experience in a manufacturing unit with a strong track record of breakdown reduction is required.
