Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Developer
Responsibilities
Dashboard & UI Design: Design develop and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards reports scorecards and embedded analytics solutions. Create highly interactive visual experiences with responsive layouts accessibility compliance KPI visualisations drill-down capabilities and executive-level reporting.
Semantic Data Modelling: Build and optimise Star Schema and dimensional models. Develop advanced DAX measures calculated tables and performance-focused analytical models that support scalable self-service reporting.
Fabric Integration: Connect Power BI solutions directly to Microsoft Fabric assets including DirectLake datasets Lakehouses Data Warehouses and OneLake repositories.
UX/UI Best Practices: Implement navigation frameworks bookmarks dynamic parameters custom tooltips drill-through pages conditional formatting and personalised user journeys that improve adoption and business value.
Performance Optimisation: Conduct performance tuning using DAX optimisation techniques query diagnostics Performance Analyzer semantic model optimisation and execution tracing to maximise report responsiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement: Gather requirements conduct workshops translate business needs into reporting solutions and communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Governance & Security: Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) workspace governance deployment standards testing frameworks and reporting best practices aligned with organisational policies.
hands-on experience developing Power BI reports dashboards semantic models advanced DAX calculations and Power Query transformations.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric architecture including OneLake DirectLake Lakehouses Data Warehouses Dataflows Gen2 and Fabric workspaces.
Working knowledge of HTML CSS JSON structures REST APIs and modern front-end integration concepts.
Proficiency with SQL Server and T-SQL for data exploration validation and troubleshooting.
Experience working within Agile Scrum delivery frameworks.
Knowledge of source control practices using Azure DevOps GitHub or equivalent Git-based repositories.
Strong communication stakeholder management and documentation capabilities.
Certifications Required
Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600).
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
