About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and organized School Nurse to oversee the medical and healthcare needs of students and staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first aid, managing medical emergencies, maintaining health records, and ensuring compliance with school health and safety standards. During non-medical hours, the School Nurse will also support the administration team with routine administrative tasks, making this a dynamic and collaborative role.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Responsibilities
- Provide first aid and immediate medical assistance to students, staff, and visitors.
- Assess and respond appropriately to medical emergencies until further medical care is available.
- Maintain accurate health records, medical reports, and incident documentation.
- Administer prescribed medications as per school policy and parental authorization.
- Monitor students with chronic medical conditions and maintain individualized care records.
- Coordinate with parents, hospitals, and healthcare professionals whenever required.
- Ensure the medical room is well-equipped and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Conduct periodic health checks and promote health awareness initiatives within the school.
- Ensure compliance with all health, hygiene, and safety protocols.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Support the administration team with day-to-day operational tasks during non-medical hours.
- Maintain confidential documentation and prepare reports as required.
- Assist in data entry, record management, and coordination with various departments.
- Handle email correspondence and maintain digital records.
- Provide administrative support during school events and activities whenever required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma, GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid nursing registration/certification as applicable.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR will be preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of first aid, emergency response, and basic healthcare practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and documentation abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and email communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Calm, patient, empathetic, and capable of working with children.
- Ability to multitask and support administrative functions efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a school, hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and a willingness to learn may also apply.
Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
