Faculty

Faculty members joining us will contribute to the MA programme in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). The programme provides an in-depth understanding of theory, practice, research, policy, professional development and opportunities for field practice to students in areas of care and education for children in the age group of birth to eight years.

Individuals with significant field experience are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

As a faculty member of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), you will:

Teach postgraduate courses in one or more areas including ECCE perspectives and principles, curriculum and pedagogy, programmes and policies, health, nutrition and early stimulation, material development, ECCE research and practice, and professional development in ECCE.
Mentor students and support their learning in the classroom.
Prepare students for extended field practice.
Collaborate with other colleagues in the MA Education programme and support students in their learning.
Contribute to institutional responsibilities as required.
Engage in research and writing for your own academic growth and contribute to the field.

Requirements

An advanced degree in Human Development and Childhood Studies/ Developmental Psychology or Education with keen interest and experience in Child Development and Learning/ Early Childhood Care and Education.
Reflective mindset with strong critical thinking skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
Interest to engage with a diverse student body.
Experienced practitioners should have more than ten years on-the-ground experience and a postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in any relevant discipline.
Ability to teach and develop courses in Postgraduate programme.
