Micro Turners Pvt Ltd (part of Micro Turners Group) is a leading manufacturer of precision automotive components, specializing in forging, machining, and transmission assemblies. The Chakan plant focuses on high-volume production of gears, shafts, and related components for major two-wheeler OEMs.
Job Purpose
To lead and manage electrical maintenance activities in the manufacturing plant, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, reliability of electrical systems, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and supervise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all electrical equipment and systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, drives (VFDs), control panels, PLC systems, transformers, DG sets, switchgear, lighting, and power distribution networks.
- Ensure proper functioning of CNC machines, gear cutting machines, heat treatment equipment, compressors, and other production machinery from an electrical perspective.
- Prepare and implement maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory, and maintenance budgets.
- Lead and guide a team of electricians and technicians; provide technical training and support.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults quickly to minimize production downtime.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards (including IE rules), plant safety protocols, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with production, mechanical maintenance, and other departments for smooth operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, energy consumption, and equipment history.
- Support energy conservation initiatives and continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, TPM, etc.).
- Handle installation, commissioning, and modification of new electrical equipment/systems as required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive, engineering, or process industry).
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLC (Siemens/Allen Bradley preferred), VFDs, motors, and power electronics.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and control circuit diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and CMMS tools is an advantage.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts if required and handle emergency breakdowns.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in automotive component manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, TPM, or similar systems.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems for better coordination.
