Job Description
Conduct sampling and analysis of environmental samples including air, water, wastewater, soil, sludge, noise, etc.
Perform laboratory tests as per ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines and standard methods (APHA, IS, EPA, BIS).
Prepare samples, calibrate instruments, and maintain proper documentation.
Operate and maintain basic environmental lab instruments such as pH meter, turbidity meter, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, BOD incubator, COD reactor, etc.
Ensure accurate data recording, result entry, and timely reporting.
Follow safety protocols, QA/QC procedures, and maintain hygiene and housekeeping in the lab.
Assist senior analysts in method development and troubleshooting.
Maintain consumables, reagents inventory, and ensure proper waste disposal as per environmental norms.
Skills & Competencies:
Basic knowledge of environmental testing methods and parameters.
Understanding of laboratory safety and good lab practices.
Ability to handle instruments and follow SOPs.
Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment.
Qualifications:
B.Sc./M.Sc. in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field.
