Job Summary
Annai Fathima College of Arts & Science, Thirumangalam, is looking for a skilled, dedicated, and hygienic Residential Cook to join our hostel mess team. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for students and staff while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and kitchen hygiene. Candidates willing to stay on campus will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner according to the approved menu.
- Ensure meals are nutritious, hygienic, and prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices at all times.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Monitor food inventory and assist in maintaining adequate stock levels.
- Minimize food wastage through efficient planning and preparation.
- Coordinate with the mess supervisor and hostel administration regarding daily meal requirements.
- Follow standard recipes and accommodate special dietary needs when instructed.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen assistants and other mess staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Eligibility
- Minimum qualification: SSLC (10th Pass) or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Cook in a hostel, educational institution, hotel, restaurant, catering service, or large-scale kitchen.
- Knowledge of South Indian cuisine is essential; experience in preparing North Indian dishes is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to prepare meals for large groups efficiently.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Candidates willing to stay on campus (Residential) will be preferred.
