The Oncology Staff Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and other oncology treatments. The nurse will assess patient conditions, administer medications, monitor treatment responses, educate patients and families, and ensure the highest standards of patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications as per physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects, adverse drug reactions, and complications.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medication management, nutrition, symptom management, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate with oncologists, pharmacists, dietitians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in procedures such as central line care, venous access management, and bone marrow biopsy preparation.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, medication safety, and chemotherapy administration guidelines.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in clinical condition.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families throughout the treatment journey.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and departmental training programs.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. Nursing / GNM from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Registration (State Nursing Council).
- Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy Administration preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2-5 years of clinical nursing experience.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in Oncology, Hematology, Chemotherapy Day Care, or Cancer Care Unit preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
