Job Title: Field Operator- Chlorination
Location: Sarigam Gujarat
Qualification: ITI AOCP
Experience: 4 to 5 Years
Key Responsibilities for Field Operator:
1. Plant & Process Operations
- Execute field operations for batch/continuous chlorination reactors, dosing systems, and scrubbers in coordination with the DCS / Control Room Operator.
- Perform safe batch charging of raw materials, catalyst dosing, and gas injection under prescribed operating parameters.
- Monitor critical parameters like temperature, pressure, chlorine flow rates, vacuum, and scrubber liquor circulation.
- Take timely process samples for Quality Control (QC) analysis and adjust field controls based on laboratory feedback.
2. Chlorine Handling & Safety
- Safely operate and connect Chlorine tonners/cylinders, vaporizers, and distribution lines following SOPs.
- Monitor chlorine leak detection systems (scrubbers, absorption towers, neutralization tanks, sensors) and respond immediately to alarms.
- Perform routine leak checks (ammonia torch/stick test) on chlorine lines, valves, and flange connections.
3. Equipment & Maintenance Support
- Conduct field inspections of equipment (pumps, agitators, heat exchangers, valves, piping, scrubbers) to identify leaks, vibrations, or abnormal noises.
- Issue Work Permits (Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space Entry, Line Breaking) and prepare equipment for preventive or breakdown maintenance (de-inventory, flushing, purging).
- Perform routine lubrication, minor tightness checks, and basic field troubleshooting.
4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Strictly adhere to EHS policies, ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001), and company safety procedures.
- Wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including chemical-resistant suits, air-line breathing apparatus, and full-face canister masks during chlorine handling or line breaks.
- Participate in emergency mock drills and act as an active responder in case of chlorine leakage or plant emergencies.
- Maintain clean work areas (5S compliance) and ensure proper waste handling/scrubbing effluent routing to Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) treatment facilities.
5. Shift Handover & Documentation
- Maintain accurate logsheets, batch manufacturing records (BMR), and shift handovers.
- Communicate operational status, pending tasks, equipment health, and safety observations to the incoming shift operator.
