Job Description: Secondary Teacher – Mathematics Position
Reporting To - Academic Coordinator / Principal
Job Summary -
The Secondary Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to students, fostering analytical and problem-solving skills, and creating an engaging learning environment that supports academic excellence. The teacher will plan lessons, assess student progress, and contribute to the overall development of students.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver effective Mathematics lessons in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
- Develop students' conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, technology, and learning resources to enhance student engagement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments and examinations.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Design and administer assignments, tests, quizzes, and examinations.
- Assess and monitor student performance regularly.
- Maintain accurate academic records and prepare progress reports.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve learning goals.
Classroom Management
- Create and maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage active participation and collaborative learning.
- Promote responsible behavior and respect among students.
Student Support and Development
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and provide appropriate guidance.
- Mentor students in their academic and personal growth.
- Encourage participation in Mathematics-related activities, competitions, and projects.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Maintain attendance and assessment records.
- Participate in professional development programs, workshops, and staff meetings.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned by the school.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory/preferred as per school requirements.
- Master's Degree in Mathematics is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience at the secondary level preferred.

- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
