The Senior ServiceNow Developer – IT Asset Management is the primary technical owner for ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) capabilities, responsible for the configuration, administration, upgrades, testing, maintenance, and ongoing care-and-feeding of Software Asset Management Professional (SAM Pro) and Hardware Asset Management Professional (HAM Pro). This role partners closely with the CMDB team (who owns discovery execution and CMDB governance) and serves as an ITAM subject-matter expert (SME) and influencer to ensure CMDB design and practices enable ITAM success. The role also provides partnership, influence, and oversight of non-CMDB foundational data required for NYDFS-aligned asset inventory outcomes and SAM/HAM data integrity, and supports M&A-related data and platform migrations impacting ITAM.
This is a specialized ITAM platform role (developer + admin blend), not a generalist ServiceNow developer position.

-
ServiceNow SAM Pro and HAM Pro modules (configuration, administration, and module integrity)
-
ITAM workflows, controls, dashboards, and operational sustainability (care-and-feeding)
-
Upgrades, regression testing/UAT support, defect remediation, and ongoing maintenance for ITAM modules
-
SAM and HAM administrative functions (operational support, configuration updates, and troubleshooting)

CMDB and Discovery teams responsible for CI ingestion, discovery tooling, and CMDB governance
-
Procurement, Finance, Cybersecurity, HR/Workforce, Real Estate/Locations, and Vendor/Contract stakeholders who own upstream foundational data sources

Influences / Provides Oversight (Non-Ownership):

CMDB design patterns (classes, relationships, required attributes) needed to support ITAM outcomes
-
Foundational data standards, validations, and governance routines for non-discoverable attributes that impact SAM/HAM and NYDFS-aligned inventory evidence
-
Own and administer SAM Pro and HAM Pro configuration, including lifecycle workflows, workspaces, and controls
-
Enable and sustain normalization, reconciliation, entitlement/allocation integrity, and lifecycle automation supporting audit-ready outcomes
-
Provide day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement for ITAM processes and tooling
-
Lead and support upgrades impacting SAM/HAM, including regression testing, UAT execution, defect triage, and post-upgrade stabilization
-
Perform platform health checks and maintenance activities to preserve performance, reliability, and controlled change across Dev/Test/Prod
-
Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for ITAM modules
-
Act as the ITAM SME and design partner to CMDB teams to ensure CI structures, relationships, and data practices enable ITAM outcomes
-
Define ITAM dependency requirements for CI attributes and relationships and validate that CMDB outputs meet ITAM completeness and reliability thresholds
-
Identify data gaps impacting ITAM and coordinate remediation with CMDB/discovery stakeholders (without owning CMDB governance)
-
Provide partnership, influence, and oversight of non-CMDB foundational data required for accurate, complete, reliable asset inventory and ITAM evidence
-
Drive requirements and controls for non-discoverable inventory attributes (e.g., owner, location, classification/sensitivity, support dates, recovery objectives where applicable)
-
Ensure traceability and linkage across procurement/PO data, contracts, entitlements, allocations, users, locations, and vendor/publisher master data
-
Implement validations, exception handling, and governance routines to sustain data integrity and auditability
-
Design and support integrations with discovery, procurement, HR, and financial systems to enable end-to-end ITAM lifecycle visibility
-
Design and support integrations using ServiceNow IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, Import Sets, and Transform Maps to enable reliable data flow across ITAM, CMDB, procurement, and other foundational data sources
Automate asset lifecycle workflows: Request Procure Receive Deploy Reclaim Retire- Dispose

Apply ServiceNow workflow automation to reduce manual effort and improve control execution across SAM/HAM processes (Flow Designer, Automation Engine, and platform-native automation capabilities)
-
Leverage ServiceNow’s evolving AI-assisted and agentic workflow capabilities (as available) to enhance triage, recommendations, exception handling, and operational efficiency for ITAM
-
AI Governance: AI-enabled capabilities must comply with enterprise AI governance, security, privacy, and audit requirements; automated actions must remain transparent and appropriately human-reviewed
-
Support M&A initiatives by assessing inherited ITAM tooling/data, guiding migration requirements, and ensuring SAM/HAM data integrity through integration activities
-
Partner with stakeholders to normalize and rationalize incoming asset and entitlement data into ServiceNow while preserving controls and audit evidence
-
Produce solution design documentation, technical runbooks, and operational guidance for ITAM modules and integrations
-
Serve as a technical mentor and escalation point for ITAM platform best practices, controls, and sustainable operations

Strong JavaScript and ServiceNow platform configuration skills (Flows, scripts, ACL awareness, and lifecycle controls)
-
Experience supporting regulated environments with audit-ready controls and evidence expectations

Experience applying ServiceNow workflow automation and AI-assisted capabilities to operational processes, with a focus on control, auditability, and measurable outcomes
-
ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS-ITAM) or equivalent hands-on expertise
-
Experience with CSDM alignment and/or CMDB health practices in support of ITAM outcomes
-
Experience supporting M&A platform/data migration workstreams impacting ITAM
-
Experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC) operating model
-
SAM/HAM outputs are trusted because CMDB inputs and foundational datasets are governed to ITAM requirements

ITAM lifecycle workflows and controls are automated, repeatable, and auditable, enabling strong compliance posture and reduced operational risk
-
Upgrades and releases are delivered with disciplined testing and minimal disruption to ITAM operations
-
M&A integrations preserve ITAM controls, data integrity, and inventory evidence continuity
