Job Title: Senior Software Engineer QE

1. Job Purpose
OSB India is seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer Quality Engineer with 5 to 8 years of experience in Functional, automation and Data testing experience in Quality Engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Functional Testing aligning to STLC / SDLC, designing and implementing automation frameworks, preferably using the TypeScript/Node.js stack, strong experience with tools like Playwright and Postman/Bruno and strong experience in Data Testing using SQL. You’ll work closely with developers and product teams to build efficient, scalable, and reliable test solutions that ensure high-quality releases. Exposure to mobile automation and AI-assisted testing is an added advantage. This role involves collaboration across multiple OSB Group sites and may include occasional travel.
2. Core Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Functional test scenarios, test cases and test scripts for each project and test phase in line with the agreed testing strategy and approach. Define, prepare and create the required test data to support the testing.
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts to ensure reliable and efficient validation of product functionality.
- Work hands-on with TypeScript/Node.js, Playwright, and Postman/Bruno to create and maintain automated test suites for web and API layers.
Desing, develop and maintain Data Test scripts using SQL to ensure data Quality & Accuracy across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to understand requirements, ensure testability, and support seamless CI/CD integration.Participate in defining test plans, strategies, and coverage goals, contributing to overall product quality and release readiness.Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and work with engineering teams to drive quality improvements.Continuously explore new tools and practices to enhance automation coverage, speed, and reliability.Contribute to code reviews, share testing best practices, and support continuous improvement within the QA team.Exposure to mobile automation and AI-based testing approaches is an added advantage.
3. Experience Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of in functional, Data Testing and Automation Testing with hands-on expertise in Functional Testing aligning to STLC / SDLC, designing & implementing automation frameworks, preferably using the TypeScript/Node.js stack, strong experience with tools like Playwright and Postman/Bruno and strong experience in Data Testing using SQL.
4. Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in software testing, Data Testing and automation, with strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Proficient in TypeScript/Node.js, with experience using Playwright, Postman/Bruno, or similar modern testing tools.
- Solid understanding of API, UI, and integration testing within CI/CD environments.
- Strong knowledge in SQL and familiarity with Data Bricks & Lakes.
- Working knowledge of Git and familiarity with agile development practices.
- Strong knowledge on Test Management tools –JIRA, Zephyr & Confluence. Desirable to have Browserstack Test Management, Azure Test Plan or ALM.
- Exposure to mobile test automation and AI-assisted testing is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset.
- Passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest trends in quality engineering and automation.
- Nice to have : nCino, Mambu
- Banking and Financial domain is preferred
