Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Designing and delivering lesson plans for subjects such as history, geography, economics, and civics, aligning them with school, state, or CBSE standards.
- Classroom Instruction: Employing varied teaching methods (e.g., lectures, debates, projects) to enhance learning in topics like human society and political structures.
- Student Assessment: Setting and grading tests, assignments, and exams; tracking student progress and providing feedback.
- Mentorship: Fostering a positive learning environment, encouraging critical thinking, and supporting students’ social and emotional growth.
- Administrative Duties: Participating in parent-teacher meetings, attending staff meetings, and maintaining student records.
- Resource Utilization: Using technology, maps, multimedia, and textbooks to make lessons interactive.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Geography, Political Science, or related Social Science fields.
- Certification: Teaching license/certification (e.g., B.Ed. or equivalent) is generally required.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching social studies at the school level (primary, middle, or secondary) is often required, particularly for TGT/PGT positions.
- Skills: Excellent communication, strong classroom management skills, ability to spark debates, and a deep understanding of current events.
