Job Description: Teradata Query Performance DBA
Key Responsibilities
. Monitor Teradata database performance, system health, and workload utilization.
. Analyze and troubleshoot slow running, resource intensive, and failed queries.
. Perform detailed SQL/query performance tuning using Teradata Explain plans and performance tools.
. Analyze query execution plans and identify issues and collect, validate, and maintain optimizer statistics to improve query plans.
. Recommend appropriate Primary Indexes, Secondary Indexes, Partitioned Primary Indexes (PPI), Join Indexes, and other physical design improvements.
. Monitor and tune Teradata Workload Management (TASM) policies and workload classifications.
. Investigate workload bottlenecks and recommend changes to workload priorities and resource allocations.
. Work with application and development teams to optimize SQL and ETL workloads.
. Review new SQL/code changes for potential performance impacts.
. Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for database performance issues.
. Develop scripts and automation for performance monitoring and recurring DBA activities.
. Prepare performance reports and recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
. Required to work in US Eastern shifts
