Experience: 10 – 15 Years
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production Engineering (preferably in automotive / heat treatment / forging industry)
Mandatory Requirement: Experience in Steel / Metal Manufacturing Industry
Key Performance Indicators
* Achieve zero customer complaints / minimum PPM levels.
* Ensure 100% compliance with IATF and QMS audit requirements.
* Improve first-pass yield (FPY) and reduce rejections/rework.
* Ensure process capability (Cp/Cpk) within target limits.
* Ensure zero quality-related line stoppages.
* Timely closure of customer complaints and audit non-conformities.
* Maintain calibration and documentation compliance.
Job Responsibilities
* Ensure overall quality assurance for furnace and heat treatment processes.
* Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, soaking time, quenching, and tempering cycles.
* Ensure product quality compliance as per customer specifications and standards.
* Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
* Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of QMS and IATF requirements.
* Handle customer complaints, audits, and ensure timely closure of concerns.
* Coordinate with production, maintenance, and PPC for quality improvements.
* Monitor metallurgical properties, hardness, microstructure, and process validations.
* Ensure calibration of measuring instruments and testing equipment.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Six Sigma tools).
* Develop and monitor supplier quality for heat treatment-related inputs if applicable.
Skills Required
* Strong knowledge of furnace and heat treatment processes.
* Expertise in metallurgical testing (hardness, microstructure, etc.).
* In-depth knowledge of QMS and IATF 16949 standards.
* Experience in handling customer and certification audits.
* Knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP).
* Familiarity with calibration systems and lab equipment.
* Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills.

* Mechanical engineering background with strong manufacturing exposure
* Proven track record in improving quality and reducing defects
* Ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing quality teams
