We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Floor Foreman to oversee our manual machining section. The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive hands-on knowledge of conventional machines, including Manual Lathes, Milling machines, Shaper, and Drilling equipment. You will be responsible for supervising operators, managing daily production schedules, maintaining strict quality standards, and ensuring maximum workshop efficiency.Key Responsibilities
- Floor Supervision: Oversee daily workshop operations, monitor manpower, and ensure production targets are met on time.
- Technical Guidance: Supervise and guide operators on Manual Lathe (turning, threading, boring) and Milling machines (gear cutting, indexing, facing).
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and accurately interpret complex mechanical engineering drawings and blueprints to guide setup procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to ensure zero-defect production.
- Job Allocation: Distribute tasks to operators, machinists, and helpers based on their skill sets and job priorities.
- Machine Maintenance: Monitor machine health and coordinate preventive maintenance to minimize breakdown time.
- Safety & Discipline: Enforce strict workshop safety protocols, correct usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and maintain floor discipline.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of [Insert Number, e.g., 5 to 10] years of experience in a conventional machine shop, with at least [Insert Number, e.g., 2 to 3] years in a supervisory/foreman role.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of conventional machining operations, tooling selection, cutting speeds, and material behavior.
