The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy is an independent think tank doing legal research and assisting the government in making better laws. Vidhi is committed to producing legal research of the highest standard with the aim of informing public debate and contributing to improved governance. Vidhi works with Ministries of the Government of India and State Governments, as well as other public institutions, providing research and drafting support at various stages of law-making. Vidhi also conducts and freely disseminates independent research in areas of legal reform which it believes is critical to India’s future.

The Officer will work with the Chief Financial Officer and the broader Finance Team at Vidhi and be responsible for the following.
The responsibilities include:
- Deliver financial information and reports required by funders before the due date.
- Ensure statutory compliances and filings on or before the due date.
- Prepare annual and project budgets; track and analyse variances between actuals and budgets.
- Develop and present accurate financial reports and recommend strengthening the organisation’s financial controls.
- Identify and implement cost-optimisation opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
Essential
- 2-5 years of demonstrable experience in financial management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Tally, and MS Office applications.
Desirable
- Ability to streamline and automate finance processes through technology-led solutions.
- Exposure to not-for-profit environments.
- This is a full-time position based out of New Delhi.
- The Officer will be engaged in this position for a duration of one year, and renewal shall be subject to performance.
- Remuneration will be competitive, in line with experience and the existing structure at Vidhi, subject to a maximum of Rs. 55,000 per month.
