We are seeking a Machine Development Application Engineer – Software to develop, integrate, test, and commission software for automated machines and manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will design PLC, HMI, motion control, and robotic applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance machine automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement PLC, HMI, SCADA, and motion control software for automated machines
- Design machine control architecture based on customer and process requirements Develop machine sequences, state machines, alarms, and safety logic
- Integrate PLCs with servo drives, VFDs, robots, vision systems, barcode readers, and field devices
- Configure industrial communication protocols: EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, IO-Link
- Develop HMI screens for machine operation, diagnostics, recipe management, and production monitoring
- Perform machine simulation, debugging, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and production support
- Troubleshoot software, communication, and control system issues during development and customer installations
- Optimize machine cycle time, reliability, and performance
- Develop reusable software libraries and programming standards
- Prepare software documentation, functional specifications, I/O lists, alarm lists, and operating manuals
- Support machine upgrades, change requests, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and application engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science, or a related field
2–8 years of experience in industrial automation or machine software development
